Prof. Dr. BÜLENT ÇATAY

Lecturer at Sabancı University

Bülent Çatay is a Professor of Industrial Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Sabancı University. He received his B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and his Ph.D. degree in Operations Management from the University of Florida. He worked as a consultant at IBM Microelectronics Burlington, Vermont in 1997 and as a visiting lecturer at the University of Florida during 1999-2000. He joined Sabancı University in 2000. His research interests include transportation and logistics systems, sustainable transport planning, vehicle routing, electromobility, and heuristic optimization. He has published over 80 academic articles in various international and national scientific journals, conference proceedings, and edited books. He is the recipient of IBM Faculty Award and founding director of the Smart Mobility and Logistics (sml.sabanciuniv.edu) Laboratory at Sabancı University.
