Assoc. Prof. Dr. MÜJDAT SOYTÜRK

Marmara University Director of VeNIT Lab

Mujdat Soyturk, Associated Professor at Marmara University, received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Engineering in 2007 and 2002 respectively from Istanbul Technical University. His expertise and research interests include V2X Communications/Connected Cars, Wireless Networks, IoT, and Cyber-Physical Systems.  In addition, he has extensive skills in statistical analysis and performance evaluation of the various network types.  He is directing the VeNIT Research Laboratory (www.venit.org), which he founded in 2013 for studies in the field of ITS and V2X Communications. He carried out many R&D projects funded by the European Union and nationally funded. He has contributed to many R&D projects.  He has many academic publications, including ITS and V2X. He served as a member of the Editorial Board, TPC, and as a reviewer for many high-ranked journals and conferences (TPC member of 100+ scientific conferences, reviewer of 100+ SCI/SCIE journals, reviewer of 1000+ conferences).

Additionally, specific to ITS;

  • He led the V2X Communication Working Group in the TÜBİTAK Intelligent Mobility Cluster.
  • He led the Logistics working group at the 5GTR Forum. He contributed to the White Paper published by the 5GTR Forum in the sections related to V2X Communication.
  • He contributed to ITS Architectures in the preparation of the National Intelligent Transportation Systems Strategy Document and the 2020-2023 Action Plan. He continues to contribute to the preparation of the National ITS Architecture.
  • By establishing C-ITS infrastructure at Marmara University Mehmet Genç Campus, it carries out R&D studies in the field of C-ITS and V2X communication. The outputs are used by national and international organizations.
  • Studies to establish a more comprehensive C-ITS infrastructure in Marmara University Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Campus are continuing.

He is also a member of the “Board of Directors” of “Marmara University Innovation and Technology Transfer Application and Research Center” to collaborate and cooperate with the industry and to carry out technology transfer between university and industry.
