He was born in Gümüşhane, Turkey in 1970. He earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the department of Faculty of Engineering at Yıldız Technical University in 1995.

He started his career in 1996 when he served as an engineer and control supervisor in the departments of Structural Maintenance and Repair, Rail Systems and Machinery Supply and as Project Manager of Rail Systems at Directorate of Special Projects within IETT (Istanbul Electricity, Tramway and Tunnel Enterprises General Directorate) of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

He took office as a Director at Directorate of City Lighting and Energy of Department of Technical Works; Directorate of Rail Systems of Department of Transportation and Directorate of European Side Rail Systems of Department of Rail Systems respectively within Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality between the years of 2006-2019. He left the office of his own accord in November 2019.

Pezük, who carried out successful works in the feasibility, survey, design and construction stages of rail system projects for most of his professional life made significant contributions for the extension of metro and tram systems in Istanbul.

He was actively involved in the management, testing, commissioning and acceptance of all construction activities starting from the project surveying for the Rail System Lines (Metro and Light Rail Systems, Tram, Cable Car, Monorail) which fall under the responsibility of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.

He contributed to the development of the domestic industry by conducting successful works in the processes of drawing up of specifications, bidding, procurement, testing and commissioning for metro and light rail systems, trams, cable cars and monorails purchased by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and in the achievement of an increase in localization rate for metro vehicles.

He carried out works on energy efficiency in buildings and facilities of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality by the application of remote control and automation for lighting systems in the main arteries, avenues and streets throughout Istanbul.

He served as a Member of the Board of Directors at Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Kültür A.Ş. (Cultural Center), İGDAŞ (Istanbul Gas Distribution Industry and Trade JSC.), KİPTAŞ (Istanbul Housing, Public Works Planning Industry and Trade JSC) and at İzmir Metropolitan Municipality İZBAN (İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Suburban System).

He was appointed as a Counselor to the General Directorate of TCDD in November 2019.

In February 2020, he was appointed as the Head of Railway Modernization Department at General Directorate of TCDD.

Pezük, who was appointed as the Director General and Chairman of the Board of General Directorate of TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. by the Presidential Decree no. 2021/12, is married with one child.
